For seventeen years, Deltora has been shrouded in darkness. Under the Shadow Lord's iron fist, bad becomes worse, broken becomes destroyed, workers become beggars.

Their only hope of freeing their country lies in the legendary Belt of Deltora, a magical belt made by the first King of Deltora and worn by his descendants to ward off invaders. The only problem: the Belt was destroyed the day the Shadow Lord invaded, and the seven gems that give it power were scattered across the land. Rumour has it that those who seek out the gems' locations never return.

But they've been entrusted with this quest, and they won't back down.
