A different approach to the classic character-and-fanfiction-creation theory.

I create characters with fun backstories that intertwine with the original story yet disturb the plot line as little as possible.
Because this is in harmony with the plot line, the story will be broken into parts. Each part may or may not include original characters from the original medium. Each part may or may not include scenes from the original medium. Each part will be named kind of like a poem. The rest you will have to read to find out~
This is probably not just my idea... I'm sure plenty of people do this.

Atelia is a fancharacter made for DRAMAtical Murder (often abbreviated to DMMd), which is a visual novel adapted into an anime. The main genre of this show is yaoi.
