In 1943, young Gerhard Römer decides to go against his government and his family to protrect Germany from the evils of the Nazi Party by joining the secret Harnack Group, an anti-Nazi resistance organization part of the wider German resistance effort that would come to be known as the "Red Orchestra." Along the way, Gerhard endures pain, loss, and the harsh realities of life in the resistance.
