Not So Different.

Katina is from a noticeably broken home. Alex is from a stable-looking family.
Katina is afraid of attention. Alex is the football star.
Katina is in therapy for suicidal tendencies. Alex is looking for the girl who keeps leaving school.
Katina is obviously broken. Alex is good at pretending.
Scarred, bruised, broken Katina Larens is called out of class to leave for her weekly therapy appointment and runs into Mr. Popular-Football-Star Alex Barbosa- literally runs into him. As he helps her pick up her books, their hands meet as do their eyes. Alex is immediately desperate to know this girl, the one the rumors are about.
Katina, on the other hand, knows exactly what Alex does to girls. He makes them fall in love then leaves. He gets what he wants and says "Bye-bye!" Katina cannot handle that right now.
Alex needs to know Katina. Katina already knows Alex. Right? Or maybe, looks can be deceiving.
