Here's the thing: I didn't ask to be part of some epic, world-saving rebellion. I just wanted answers.
Answers about my mom, who disappeared when I was a kid. About why we're all stuck underground, surviving off flickering Solar Simulators while the so-called Upper World stays off-limits. And about what's really going on with the city's leaders, who seem a little too eager to keep everyone in the dark-literally and figuratively.
But asking questions has consequences, and I've never been good at keeping my head down. The deeper I dig, the more I uncover secrets no one wants me to know-about my family, the Upper World, and a power that could change everything.
Now, with the city on the brink of collapse, I'll have to decide how far I'm willing to go to find the truth-and whether I can live with the answers I might uncover.

I scrunched up my mind a little and tried remembering my mom's face . The last time I checked, my mother didn't have a twin. I kind of grabbed the phone from her and rechecked the photo to only notice that it was taken exactly 2 years ago. I was shocked and tried to put things together but failed miserably. "But my parent's death were 5 years ago. How can my mother still be alive?" ONCE my mom told me that we, as humans, only fear what we do not know and that that is the sole reason for violence. Along with any sanity we as a people have left. The year is 2193, and the world is at war. We, humans, are at war with each other only because of what we are and what we can do. We fear what we do not know, thus all we know is ignorance. The government, our democracy, our people and our world have fallen. Nothing good ever comes from being afraid of the abnormalities of others, especially when those abnormalities are amazing. The truth is, none of us are normal. Everyone's definition of normality is different, making it humanly impossible for anyone to ever accomplish the craved label of "normal". Then again, everything we have grown capable of was once described as humanly impossible. By those standards none of us are human. Not even me.
