A thing I wrote for the Rebellious New Year 2023 thing by BadassReads, although it is not set during New Year's. Maybe the opposite by being a period piece.
Anyways, here's the summary: A trio of gangsters break into the suite of John Franklin Boucher, a former SDECE (French intel agency from 1944-1982) agent-turned-contract killer trying to retire. John then discovers that the Mafia is trying to coax him out of his new fresh start.

The Ability Era
Disclaimer: There is some violence(blood and gore), and some crude language. This story is currently under hiatus. Not sure when I will continue. The story revolves around this organization called the Intergalactic Brigade Force(IBF) which is kind of like a special police made up of people with abilities(powers). The ability persons(AP's) are ranked by letter, Squad A being the best, and Z the worst. The beginning of the story focuses on Squad Y and their mission to stop an arms dealer called Red Coyote. The focus shifts away from them and shows the perspective of a plethora of characters such as a robot cowboy, a crazy mind controller, some weird prison inmates, and later shifts to a school of AP children. I think some may find it boring and maybe complicated but I hope you enjoy if you choose to read.Complete
