Aya is in the last phase of obtaining her bachelor's degree. She decides to travel to Rwanda, the Heart of Africa, to conduct her research. Without expectations, she embarks on the journey of a lifetime and finds herself in a whirlwind of encountering poverty, excessive drinking, toxic people, but also the most wonderful landscapes and local people that teach her about their culture.
At some point, everything seems to be going well for Aya. She finishes her assignments on time, meets new friends, volunteers at a local elementary school and learns more about the land of a thousand hills.
Except, her taste in guys has never been the best. She isn't sure why every time she meets someone, everything seems to be going well, until the guy pulls a stunt and Aya enters a cycle of doubting herself and pondering over how thinks could've gotten better if only she just...
That is until she meets Amir on a Wednesday night at a new local bar. She isn't sure whether it's his bright green eyes, the fact that he's light skin, his laid back 90's style or all of it together, but she is determined to have him. Her roommate Bernadette introduces them and at first, nothing happens.
Until Friday arrives and they meet again. Aya wasn't prepared for the storm that was about to come. She never intended to fall in love, especially with a muslim. Because it could never work as she is Christian... Or, could it?
