━━━ 𝑰𝑵 𝑾𝑯𝑰𝑪𝑯, y/n moves into the pink palace apartments with her single father and angsty older brother, she expects nothing more than a long, boring fall. the house-turned-apartment complex is filled with peeling wallpaper, dusty hallways, and strange tenants-including two eccentric retired actresses obsessed with their former glory and a reclusive man who trains mice for a miniature circus. bored out of her mind and ignored by her family, y/n finds a spark of intrigue in wybie lovat, the grandson of the building's owner. he's weird, shy, awkward but still manages to catch her eye... but just as her life gets interesting, she stumbles upon a hidden door sealed behind wallpaper-a door that leads to a perfect version of her world. in this other world, everything feels tailor-made for her: her father dotes on her, her brother is actually nice, and her neighbors are lively and fun. most enchanting of all is the alternate wybie but there's one strange detail that she can't get over: everyone has buttons sewn over their eyes.
