Mavis Mouse didn't stand out, and she was perfectly okay with that. She didn't necessarily have many friends or a wild social life, and she liked it that way, because what she had? It was so much better than friends who would only meddle in things they shouldn't be getting involved in.

She had a business, a business that was technically against school rules, but a business nonetheless, and she was good at it. No one suspected her of anything, because why would they? She was Mavis Mouse, after all. She wasn't even a thought.

Cedric Diggory had no purpose in being interested in somebody like her, somebody who wasn't a mere thought, especially not when he was dating Cho Chang. So Mavis Mouse couldn't fathom why he suddenly seemed so obsessed with her. What she did know, though, was that he needed to steer clear.

Because she had secrets, and Cedric Diggory was the last person who needed to uncover them and ruin the good thing she had going. She had bruises that could only be concealed for so long. Cuts that would eventually fade into scars. Wounds that went more than skin deep.
