In order to save Hyrule, Link and Navi embarked on a grave journey. Upon the failure of the duo, everything was in ruins. How did they fail? The heroes are supposed to save the day, aren't they? Perhaps there is still time to make a difference. Perhaps we need new heroes. Better heroes.

The Legend of Zelda: The Hero Reborn (Modern Adventure AU)
As Time's Wheel turned, Hyrule's ancient legends of kings, queens, and heroic knights in green slowly faded into myths. In the modern day Hyrule, everything seemed perfect; its economy flourished, its stocks rose like never before, its citizens were happy, and its military was one of the best in the world. That is all until Hyrule's neighboring nation, Gerudia, conducted a large scale invasion of its surrounding countries. Led by the former leader of a terrorist organization known for causing mass genocide and destruction, Ganondorf Dragmire and his nation plan to show the world the true power of a long forgotten magical element. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to my next big story! Babble - Beyond Dimensions
A Linked Universe Reader Insert Fanfiction. This day was not going as you had planned. It probably was not going as planned for these travellers you had started to follow around either, because there was no way you would stay somewhere full to the brim with monsters alone and unprotected - dream or no dream. And well, some company is better than none. Even when they only communicate in "Hya"s. Or: A modern day person unexpectedly finds themselves thrown into Hyrule, where they run into the Links. _________________________________________ 28.2.2020 - 28.2.2024 Part one is now finished. Blighted Memories
Amnesia was a funny thing. It strips you of all memories, both good and bad. But what it didn't take away from Link was his caring heart. He wasn't a man who had time to deal with or worry about things like memories anyway. All he cared about was doing what was right. But just because Link had no memories, or any interest to reclaim them, didn't mean they wouldn't return to haunt him. Ever since Link woke up, strange things have been happening around the land. Horrific creatures, not quite monster and not quite human, begin appearing at night to terrorize the denizens of Hyrule. Link, not one to simply let such evils do as they please, decides to investigate into the matter as he travels across the land to find a way to destroy these creatures. It should've been just another job for him, just a problem the people needed solved, just another errand for the incarnation of Hylia's hero. But as he investigates, he is haunted by his past. Link's mind cannot remember what happened. But his heart did. He still feels what he lost, what he failed to protect, even after one hundred years. That's what draws something toward Link, the very same evil that created the creatures he faces. It follows and watches him from the shadows, taunting him, waiting for him to remember the past he's forgotten, waiting for the pain to resurface, waiting for the time he can no longer carry the weight of it all. As he journeys on his quest to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda, Link must learn to contend with another ancient evil that taints the land, all while facing the ghosts of his forgotten past. But how long can a disgraced hero last in the face of his failures? Cover art designed by @DaybreakVision on Twitter. Some themes may be upsetting to some readers. Viewer discretion advised. Written in Blood . {After OoT/MM fic} Hyrule is on the brink of another bloody war when he returns, the hero that had slipped away to be forgotten by the land. But Zelda remembers him, the person he once was. He's so different now, and perhaps she is too. The whole land is, transformed by war as Ganondorf works to seize all that he believes once belonged to him, in a time no longer. Both Link and Zelda find themselves in the middle of this war, forced to fight and strategize and deal with their own inner demons as well as each other, amidst the war the Hylians fight to regain their land and defeat the King of Thieves. > < .
