When sixteen-year-old
Noah Everett moves into the sleepy town of Blacksburg, together with his
mother, he is shrouded in depression and social anxiety. Tired of moving from
school to school, he expects nothing much of his new experience in Blacksburg’s
high school. His only expectations include lingering in the hallways without
being noticed, and becoming part of the library’s furniture; his only safe
haven. Yet, life as he knows it changes when he receives an anonymously-sent Stone Roses vinyl in his locker one day.
Soon enough, in 44,500 words, he tries to navigate his way through life…the
drama of school and family life, the world of sperm banks, drugs, indie rock,
and tearful dilemmas, while at the same time uncovering the mysteries of his
past one by one.
