15-year-old Aubrey is moving with her father after the death of her Mum from Japan, to the USA.
Waiting at Licoin High School already the 16-year-old Liem who put them through to lead the school because he is Vietnamese and she Japanese and everything from the director's point of view would be the same.
On the first day of school everything went perfectly awry for Aubrey that her mentality isn't that anymore cooperated and she sought help with alcohol, which none especially good idea was liem since they got drunk in the evenings found in the cemetery.
Since the day Liem decided to take care that it doesn't degenerate like it did with his little Sister. In hindsight, the two more than liked each other Friendship, even though the two are in completely different ways Worlds lived... Aubrey... a quiet, reserved girl what their free time is in learning, cooking, shopping, reading and listening to music spends, Liem... the nice and popular Vietnamese boy in high school who plays on the football team, goes to parties and hangs out with friends.
