Grian and his friends on Hermitcraft are close. They've been friends for a while, and they have never really had any huge problems with each other. At least, that's what Grian thought before he overheard the other Hermits talking about him behind his back. Soon, Grian realizes that maybe he and his friends aren't as close as he'd like to think. He doesn't realize how much this affects him until one day, he begins to develop a strange disease. After learning he has a disease known as Hanahaki, a disease that stems from unrequited love, he realizes that a heart doesn't just break for romantic partners, but also for family.

This disease slowly killed the gem off if they were to ever fall in love, since love was deemed as a distraction. Unless it was mutual, they would certainly shatter over time. Eventually the flowers fill their lungs and they die. It can be healed if the person's love returns their feelings. But if the person gets rejected, they will die faster. Or they can have an operation, but they lose all memory of their love. (im bad at describing ok😭) What happens when izuku is put between life and death for his love? Grian is having a great time in season 7 so far, until the rest of the hermits start to get more annoyed at him. Grian starts to have a more dark and depressing personality. He one day stumbles across a base in the nether that he had never seen before and decided to investigate it. Grian finds both Hels and Ex inside of the base and runs away. After a week, Grian runs into them again but this time something inside of him wants to trust them and befriend the two. Grian starts to avoid all the hermits after they start to be mean to him. Grian soon starts to have a monotone color palette like the demise game in season 6. Ex and Hels soon find him in his base like this and find out that the hermits were the cause of him being like this. Something happens to make Grian go over the edge and latch out at one of the Hermits.
