The Alternate

I've often wondered what happens after we die. Is there a place for the good and the bad like Heaven and Hell? Do our souls return as reincarnations?
Or is there just nothing? When we kick the bucket is that all we get?
I never considered my death happening any time soon but things changed, as did my perspective.
It's only when I knew I was going to die when I realized I wasn't living.
That's when I truly started to consider what waited for me on the other side.
Most people now don't believe in Heaven or Hell, they believe in the Alternative, a world alternate to our own.
They believe that when you die your consciousness can be sent to this world giving you a new life in a new body.
Speculations and theories about the Alternative are vast and wild. Most believe it's a fantasy world filled with fantastic creatures and magic, few believe otherwise.
The biggest argument against its legitimacy is that the Alternative is locked behind a paywall.
They say the only way to get sent there is to pay a lot of money. Even then they say there's no guaranty.
The more you pay the higher your chances of being sent there. Then if you pay even more you might spawn as a more powerful or a more rare species.
I never believed in that world. I knew I was going to die and my time was short...
I never expected a second chance.
