The Hunger Games- Peeta Mellark

Peeta's POV of the novel The Hunger Games

Set in the ashes of North America a new country, Panem, rose up, a nation divided into 13 districts and The Capitol. 74 years ago the districts rebelled against The Capitols evil and with this they suffered dire repercussions, District 13 was bombed and destroyed and a new era was born, The Hunger Games. Each year the districts all provide 1 boy and 1 girl which are to be reaped from a pool of children aged 12-18. These children will then fight to the death in an arena until onlt one stands. The games are a reminder of the 'dark days'.

The Hunger Games is a best-selling trilogy and major blockbuster movie franchise by Suzanne Collins told from the perspective of District 12 Tribute Katniss Everdeen. But what about the other tributes perspectives? What about the perspective of tortured baker's son, Peeta Mellark?

Peeta Mellark is a 16 year old boy from District 12. He is well liked at school and doesn't struggle for scraps. On reaping day, the odds were not in his favour. Peeta will now be summoned to death but even worse he will be forced to battle to the death with a special girl from his district.
