Oscar Isaac, a well-known American actor, was falsely accused and framed for committing a scandalous act. However, he knew that he was innocent of the deed he was accused of. A horde of reporters and paparazzi, like zombies, kept pursuing him for an answer, but he was struggling to avoid and flee from them, since he was alone. Nobody was there to defend and come to his assistance or support him.
But then, Y/N, a secret agent, his partner/best friend appeared to come to his rescue and helped him escape the hordes of reporters and paparazzi.
After the scandal had occurred, Oscar's wife's trust in him was completely shattered, resulting in her kicking him out of their shared home for several months. This led to him staying with Y/N for her assistance in helping him clear his name. So, together, Y/N and Oscar embarked upon an investigation to unravel the real culprit behind the scandal that was falsely levelled against Oscar.
Whilst accompanying Y/N on the mission, Oscar secretly started developing romantic feelings for her. This even led to an extremely ill-conceived and irrational moment on his part, which was never a part of their original plan, to begin with.
So, while the answer to whether they keep their close, platonic friendship or take it to a more romantic level might be left to their eventual fate, to be seen whether the two of them cross the line from just being friends to something more.
It certainly seems that their journey together has an interesting, and potentially promising, trajectory.
