Tommy, after leaving work is given a book and witnesses a fight between a villain named Mage and two heroes named Anaglyph and Warden.
2 years later, he starts learning magic, with Mage training him to become the new Tome user.
Tommy must choose himself if he wishes to become a hero or a villain and chooses to become a vigilante to start off with.
But meet a missing hero and his friend, he uncovers secrets about the heroes that he never knew. Tommy can use this to his advantage, hold it over the heroes heads and threaten to release everything.
Can Tommy live in a world of superpower and people who've been in the industry longer than he has? With only magic?

Note: writing will be all over the place as i'm still trying to stay to a plot line. It'll make zero sense btw. And near the end it starts moving slower since i've kinda lost motivation. Probably because i winged most of it and didn't make a script.
Some characters personalities will be OOC as I didn't look into their personalities until halfway through the story

He called out again, trying to find his way through the room. His ears flickered up and paused. He nudged his heel on the floor, hearing a splash on the ground. He froze. Seconds ticked by as Tommy slowly took out his phone. His finger hovered over the flashlight button. With hesitation, he gulped and pressed the button. Light illuminated the dusty counter and unsettling puddle of pitch black liquid on the floor. He shivered, a rouge gust of wind seeping through the broken window. Grimacing at the sight, Tommy reluctantly stepped further in. Before having shivering cold hands being placed on his lower back. And being pushed into the sea of unknown substance. ------- Tommy was looking for his roommate yet luck wasn't upon him, and he somehow went from having healing powers to having wide spread wings, and different powers than before after falling into a puddle. Oh and he has black handprints on his back. That doesn't have anything to do with his sudden encounters of villains and superheroes.....Right? or After falling into a weird puddle, Tommy falls into the world of heros, vigilantes and villains as a mentally unprepared 17 year old child. ---- Heavily inspired by the song "Turn The Lights Off" by Tally Hall. The plot primarily follows a sixteen-year-old Thomas Ianston, an immigrant from London seeking to meet his heroes and join them among the leagues of crime fighters that the city is famous for. Alas, Tommy himself does not have any superpowers that might warrant him a place among the city's greats. Tommy's hopes are almost up, until a single decision causes him to find himself under the wing of his idol, Dreamwisher, and an easy spot among the greatest team of protectors that the Earth has ever seen. But, Tommy's world is quickly twisted upside down. Deaths and betrayals cross paths with Tommy and Dreamwisher at every corner's turn. Wilbur was a hero, the second best hero to be exact. And it was his job to protect everyone that resided in his beloved city. Everything was perfect for the hero, he had a lovely father and two brothers, he had his friends, and he even had a boyfriend who he loved more than life itself! Wilbur loved his work to keep his city safe, but there was always someone trying to prevent that. Sometimes it was large villains who killed and killed, other times it was a simple thief. Sometimes, it was a shapeshifting villain who liked scarring others and ruining lives. Sometimes it was a villain who helped unlock hidden powers yet was insane enough to fight in a burning, collapsing building. Because that night, Wilbur fought alongside a way-too-young-and-way-too-familiar vigilante and his family against a famous villain with an ability so powerful it seemed fake. The world was never have been ready for Shift in the first place, Shift was the villain who's identity was so secret no one had a single lead to go attempt to catch them. As the years go by, in the shitty city they live in with a flawed hero system, they've decided to help those in need in the poorer parts of the city.
