"You'll ruin me, won't you?" He chuckled, breathlessly.

Her eyes went ablaze. "Yes." Her words were a promise, an oath.

She met his eyes with her own, smiling at him.

"Does that scare you?"

                              . . .

Evangeline Hart is a player and a heart breaker. She has always been that. Over dramatic, confident, sassy and fiery, she's a fire that many had tried to tame but failed.

With a deeply rooted loneliness and fear of getting attached, she sees no meaning for a lasting love. It's all a game to her.

Until another player enters the field.

Torin Alston. He's cheeky, flirtatious, humorous, cunning and most importantly, he's a player. Just not the usual kind.

And he's the first guy ever to see her for who she really is. A fire. And he doesn't want to tame her. He wants her to burn him.

This all was supposed to be a game and nothing more. But sometimes, it's not even up to us to decide who we fall for.

Listen to your heart, they said. But they forgot to say that some hearts lie.

I almost fell but his other hand settled on my hip, pulling me closer to him. "What you do to me," he added on a breath. The hand on my jaw shifted. His fingers left trails of tingles as he slipped them back slowly, under my earlobe and into my curls. *************************************************** As a young girl, Charlotte Avery's favourite pass time was daydreaming about her Prince Charming: Archer Johnson.
