They are termed entertainers, and at the age of eighteen, they are auctioned off, left to the mercy of their owners. Entertainers are essentially concubines, but any relationship beyond slave and owner is strictly forbidden, and punishable by death. It's a risk many people are not willing to take, but there are exceptions to every rule. Nevaeh Williams has a past unlike the majority of the other entertainers.
