After Rin had chose to kill himself from Mephisto's suggestions he was sent to Gehenna and spent 3 years there grieving and watching the demons of Gehenna flourish. He was presented something from his fathers mage. A misty mirror that showed his story in another life. a story where he chose to become an exorcist and live a life with his brother and new friends. Rin realizes he really does have a place in Assiah. He once mid night he grabs his important things and run to the mages test room, shattering the mirror and taking a shard with him.
