This story is action packed fun adventure that follows a character named Spikehorne. I wrote this book because it offers a different style to tell traditional stories of hunting wild game. Instead of the normal stories told by your grandpa, or grandma. Even though those are some of my favorite. There is a twist which makes this story little more unique, so stay tuned.

A sharp stinging pain ran across my shoulder. Like a collection of razor sharp knives had pierced through my skin, but with this excruciating pain came a sense of relief. I could finally breathe again. When I opened my eyes the hogs tusk was embedded deep into my shoulder, and he held me up like a doll. Finally, I could see the face of my foe. His eyes were bloodshot red, and a face blacker than the dark. His teeth were painted an orangish red, and an odor that wreaked like death. All of the horror stories of this swamp were true. Hogzilla was no myth, and I was his next victim. The beast swung his head from side to side, slapping my body into the mud with each thrust. Even though the mud was soft, it felt like cement. If I did not act fast I surely would be a goner. With every ounce of strength I had left, I reached for the handle of my hatchet, and popped it from its holder. I then gathered up just a little more effort, and slammed the tip of my blade into the floppy ear of the hog.

Most people think of hunting as a barbaric act of killing an animal and wearing it's fur or having the body stuffed and hanging on a wall. While that may be partly true under a certain light in the history of hunting, the hunting I'm referring to is beheld under a total different type of lightning and perspective. True hunting. The struggle between Man and Nature. Where man steps out of his or her comfort zone into an element where they are either no longer the top of the food chain, or they are the apex predator and in some instances, that can change in an instant. Hunting is constant planning and preparing with faith of a successful outcome when oftentimes we are met with failure of a successful harvest but successful in gaining more knowledge of our prey and our surroundings. Most people don't understand why we do what we do and ask if we really wanted a challenge why we don't just join a gym or enter in a 10k marathon. Some of us have and some of us do. But most of us need more. More opportunities and more situations to push us passed our own selves. That's why some of us find ourselves miles into remote territory stalking an apex predator more than four times our size. Or, armed with a speargun and wetsuit several feet deep in shark infested waters in pursuit of tasty and elusive fish and other marine wildlife. What's more, is just being in these wild places alone or with friends is enough for most of us. We cherish the views, the tranquility, the solitude, and the wonder that nature has to offer as well as the bounty that has been set before us as ethical hunters. Most of us will say that there is nothing better than being in a wild and beautiful place in pursuit of a wild and beautiful animal. For we know that even if we are unsuccessful, it is purely the memory of these beautiful and wild places that define us. *Disclaimer* I'm not a professional writer nor do I intend to be. Embrace the mystery, discover more. "I would sacrifice pieces of my flesh and still be considered selfish for not giving my bones." I spit at the annoyingly handsome man in front of me, he runs both his hands over his face into his light brown hair narrowly missing the small horns that curl out of his head before looking up at me in disappointment. "Would it be your choice whether the skin is taken off of you.. or your lowlife fathers who I saved you from?" He snickers, rage rolling off of me in waves as he smirks up at me knowing he has hit a weak spot. This man may have saved me but it is time for me to save myself and this kingdom. An infant was left by the bank of the river for the floods predicted for the following night to wash her away. Until a beautiful woman taking an evening stroll heard her cries and found her all bundled up in a black blanket and when she opened her big beautiful purple eyes the woman gasped in shock. Knowing she had found something special she took the babe and ran home to her loving husband. He immediately fell in love with the child, naming her Penelope, both watching as the child grew happily but never taking her out of the premises so no one would question them about her eyes. Until Penelopes sixteenth birthday everything was perfect, that day her mother fell ill and passed within the next fortnight after her heart couldn't handle the sickness anymore. The last thing she told her husband was, "Protect her from them, for they will come for her." Penelope heard his cries of despair ringing throughout the house almost muffled by her own, for she knew she wouldn't be able to go to her funeral, visit her grave, or even talk to her mothers friends to remember her in spirit. Months that passed turned into years and Penelopes father grew mean and cold, he tried to hold back till his breaking point reached and that would be the night where her world was turned completely upside down.

There is an unexpected turn in the story that drastically changes the course of events and, in the long run, even the lives of those involved. Magpie, the first to be involved, suddenly finds himself in the world so unlike his own. Will he find his place there or will he be at least able to go back home? He seems to find his way back from this new world of giga-dimensions but something unwanted happens, and things go worse. The cultural differences, together with a challenging personality traits of another involved in the events, suck Magpie and his friends into a downward spiral. The story challenges you to see the world differently from the perspective you are perhaps too used to and narrowed by. Life can be an adventure if you don't narrow it with a bigotry that forces you to be rooted in your trenches and behind your dividing walls. This doesn't mean you have to accept others' views without standing your ground. However, to be able to share our lives in this one and only world we need to make compromises, on both sides. Are you the first brave one to set this positive trend in motion? So read on and let the foundation of the story be laid. From the end of episode 1 on, the story really picks up, finally reaching its climax at the end of episode 3 with quite a surprising finish. Your participation in solving this shared challenge of coexistence and cooperation is highly appreciated. Remember those who cooperate make more progress than those who don't! The ideal audience for my first book is actually between 12 and 16, but anybody older and interested in adventures, cultures and in getting more understanding into our multifaceted world is sure to enjoy the story. (The whole story has now been published, the only thing I'll still add is the final epilogue but the story is already available in its entirety.)

"I know I'm a monster, but even I have my limits!" I shout at him. He shouldn't have done that. "Wait, please, I- , let me explain. I'm sorry-" "I should've known." I say quietly as I turn around and leave him there. I will never trust him again. Not after this. She wanted to be left alone. He wanted to find his mate. She didn't know about his kind. He didn't know about her past. She was a human. He was a wolf. Will he win her over? Will she accept him? Will they be happy? Or will someone try to ruin them?
