When Marinette was 18, she had a one night stand with a blonde she met at a club. When she found out she was pregnant, she dropped out of college, ran away from home to America and got a job. 6 years later, she was offered a job in Paris as the assistant to Adrien Agreste.

He also became the founder of Dreamy, which is a designer clothing brand, and he models all of his clothes. After 1 year, the company was very successful, but Adrien needed an assistant. He remembered his best girl-friend in high school, Marinette, and asked her if she wanted to be his assistant
