At her nod he goes on, "I'm..." but the words won't come out. Because even if she really were twenty one he is so ridiculously and disgustingly older than her. This kind of age difference is for celebrities, not real people. She will probably turn him down or make him leave but Zack is becoming invested in staying with her. Desiree waits patiently, searching his face carefully for signs of a lie which is finally what makes him tell the truth. If he wants honesty from her he must be willing to give it. With a sigh and direct eye contact he admits, "I'm thirty five. No, I'm not, I'm sorry. I'm thirty seven. Truly. Final answer."
