Eddie has had a crush on Steve ever since they've been kids, pinning for him over the years, longing for something he knows will never be his.
Steve has always enjoyed his friendship with Eddie since they've been kids, never really being able to hold onto a relationship, Eddie always coaching him through the splits.
When Eddie finally manages to move on and find himself in a relationship, Steve comes to a difficult amount of realizations, he likes men, he likes Eddie, and he is so totally screwed.

As they stared at each other for a little while, he noticed specks of gold and green within the gorgeous shades of reddish brown. "Your eyes are really pretty," he blurted. Steve chuckled. "Thank you, i love your smile" this made both boys blush a scarlet red. "I really like you" Steve leaned down and whispered into Eddie's ear, sending a chill down the other boy's spine. "I like you too, alot" he said, avoiding eye contact with Steve. the older boy gently grabbed his chin and forced him to look up. "Can I?" he asked, his eyes flickering to Eddie's lips. Steve's always been the jealous one according to the group, according to literally everyone. Even the kid who supposedly praises him. Everyone tells him that he's jealous of Dustin finding another older friend to have by his side. But no one knows why and that it's not all jealousy. He dropped what he was doing and turned around making cold eye contact with her. "Robin. I'm being serious. Drop it." The girl tensed up and worry gathered on her face for a short second. "Okay, okay. If it's that bad then I won't bother you about it again. I'm sorry okay?" She raised her hands up in a surrender and went back to the vhs's on the counter next to her. Steve took a long breath and rubbed his hands over his face. The bell on the door rand, but Steve ignored it. He was already stressed out enough as it was. "Steve!" He could hear two pairs of footsteps walking up the counter, one being the short curly haired boy he'd taken on as one of his best friends years ago. "Hey Henders-" Steve lost all track of thought in a matter of seconds, his breath was stuck in his throat along with any words he could've possibly thought might help in the situation.
