Riley Evans is quite different from everybody else that she's been around. An outcast you might as well put it. After being taken advantage of at the age of 13 its hard for her to find love again. After finding softball as somewhat of a escape she wants to get back into the playing field (of dating that is) Alex Mccarthy has had a troubled past growing up. From popping prescription pills to breaking into cars it is also hard for him to find love again. The adopted teen has gotten taken advantage of in every relationship he's been in and trust has become a major problem. After crossing each other's paths, they find out they're not to different from each other after all.

Ryan's family dies in a car crash and she moves in with her mom's friend so collage. she has anxiety problems ever since her family's death but keeps it to herself. she doesn't express feelings well; she likes to keep them to herself. she partly blames herself for her family's deaths. her world is rocked by these boys she moves in with. all they seem to do is sports, video games, and hit on as many chicks as they can. she soon meets someone who she has never known she could love much. but how can everyone adjust when a skeleton falls out of the closet? when will the boys and everyone learn what happened to her? how will new love be affected by this? will Ryan ever learn to love and express her feelings again? will she ever heal from her pain?
