A mobile friendly website design is a website that works the same way across various designs. Generally, mobile-friendly designs work the same on mobile devices (iPads, smartphones, etc.). Nothing breaks or becomes unusable on a computer or mobile device. Drop-down menus for navigation, for example, aren't as widely available because they can be awkward to use on mobile devices. Plus, there's no Flash animation in a mobile-friendly website design.
