The ground rumbled as he approached me, a power of satisfaction and strength rolling off of him in waves. He walked past my pack members, each one submitting to him with their heads bowed and eyes gazed on the dirt covered ground. My stomach churned, egging me to submit. I was tired of being weak, tired of everyone pushing me around.I knew he could smell my fear, his smirk said it all.I backed up, my eyes still locked with his blank gaze. His appearance towered over me, making me feel weak and helpless against the old oak tree.He picked me up and pushed me against the tree, his hands placed gently on my shoulders.I closed my eyes shut as he smelled my hair and brought his lips to my ears to whisper the one word I dreaded..."Mate."And at that I knew my life was over.

My Mother Runs With Wolves

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
