It's the height of the Bug Wars. The Federation pushes its frontiers further and further into arachnid space. Here we meet our Protagonist and story teller Henrietta Vasquez. Freshmeat in the Mobile Infantry and in full anticipation of action. Years later she recants the story of what she experienced during the first months of her times in the mobile infantry. 
This is her story.

Part 2 is - well, as a student of military history, I was struck by how some things in the military life have seemed to be constant over the centuries. Part 3 is the result of trying to imagine what an infantry fire-fight might be like in the 22nd century or beyond. How does technology play into it?

Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey. And everything was going smoothly until I unexpectedly woke up on a new planet, one with an ethereal glow and an eerie resemblance to our old home as the commander of the military space force, my father tasked his men with exploring this new world. But what they discovered was far from welcoming. This new planet was already inhabited by terrifying creatures, and they were not happy with our presence. His men fought to survive against these beasts, I couldn't help but wonder why they were so hostile towards us. That's when one of them approached me, defying everything we had been warned about. Instead of attacking, it watched me pick flowers before later saving me from a fiery blast. Now it's my turn to save him. Please read the prologue in the beginning before going to Chapter 1. I know a lot of people skip Prologues, however, it has important information that will give you a better understanding of what's going on in other chapters. Feel free to comment and vote. A slight malfunction sent them just outside the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy into dead space. Returning home, they ran into an alien race known as the Velcronians. What started off as a comical first contact, ended up with the Impala being snatched into the Farside Galaxy. Now stuck in the middle of a galactic war on the verge of spilling into the entire universe, the Impala must find a way to stop it and make it back home....before they no longer have a home to go back to. This is my challenge to myself to get better and more consistent at writing daily. Rules I will upload a part to a story every day. Some stories will be shorter than others and some may continue over multiple days, but I will upload everyday, no matter the quality. Consistency over perfection. Important Some might be good, some might be horrible. Good thing I'm doing this for me and not for you. I'd be grateful for any feedback though, I have a lot to learn.
