Everyone knows that being a newsie is hard work, but few know the difficulties of leading them every day, and even fewer know how hard running Brooklyn is. When Race is welcomed into Brooklyn, he gains direct access to the most mysterious newsie in New York - Spot Conlon. As Spot warms to Race's awkward but endearing personality, he shows him a new side to the leader of the Brooklyn newsies. But as the strike comes to pass, and Spot's hidden past comes to light, Race becomes conflicted, only knowing one thing for sure... it's a long way down.
