Als Kate geadopteerd word door de meest bekende boy-band van nu, kan haar leven niet meer stuk. Want wie wil dat nou niet, leven bij tieners die als grote broers voelen, en zoveel lol maken als je maar wilt?
Als Kate na een paar maanden nieuwsgierig begint te worden naar haar biologische ouders, gaat het slechter met haar veiligheid. Ze wil weten waarom ze bij haar verschrikkelijke oom moest gaan leven en hoe haar ouders omgekomen zijn.
Als ze eenmaal weet wie de brute moordenaar was, komt ze oog in oog met iemand te staan die ze liever niet zou willen zien.
(Oké, om geen verwarring te wekken, dit is "Adopted by..." maar dan met andere cover, titel en inhoud. Kate is er nog steeds, maar met wat andere karaktereigenschappen. Nightmares is het eerste deel van mijn tweedelige serie over Kate. )

--Re-written-- When I was 8 we were playing hide and seek in the little park surrounded by bush down the street from my house. It was a large group of us. It was always fun down at the park, since our parents never really came and checked on us. I loved counting. The suspense. So I was counting. We counted to 90 so everyone could get the optimal spots in the park. The deal was that we never went too far into the bush. The boulder was our guide. I counted to 90, like normal, and then started looking. There were always specific spots that people hid in, so they were my first points to check. Oddly, no one was in any of them. But to my 8 year old self that made the whole thing better. I started looking hard. But didn't find anyone. I started to call out, starting to get worried.
