"The Cursed Boy of Taft" is a dark and eerie short story that takes place in 1891 in the small town of Taft, Texas. The story follows a mysterious and ominous boy who had been locked away in a cottage, but manages to escape. The boy is found by a farmer and his family and strange things start happening around the farm. The family's daughter starts to see the boy's ghost everywhere she goes. The farmer takes the boy back to the cottage, but the strange occurrences continue and the family eventually moves away.
