Yasmin Knight left London for sunny Hawaii out of necessity more than anything else: the memories were far too much to bear and she figured sun and beaches would do her some good. Then she loses interest in her best-selling series, is hitting major writer's block and isn't quite sure what to do. Then HPD Detective Gordon Katsumoto walks into her book launch party to talk to her about murders that were inspired by her novels and inspiration strikes. Using her friendship with the Governor, she gets to follow him around for research on her newest series-which happens to be based on Detective Katsumoto. For his part, the idea of having a mystery writer follow him around absolutely does not please Katsumoto but he's stuck with her whether he likes it or not. And then the two cross paths with Private Investigator Thomas Magnum, former MI6 agent and now majordomo Juliet Higgins and their friends and suddenly Yasmin has a whole lot of interesting stories for her novels. Katsumoto just has a lot of headaches.
