The secretary of the council has been dating the auditor of the council; they are each other's soft, sweet launches. Nobody knows they were a thing, or maybe they are, but they never talked about it, knowing both people, and they never intended to make their relationship public.

Although both sets of parents are aware of their relationship, they are content to hide in their own world - they never wanted anyone to intervene in their relationship. As this was the secret that they always loved to hide.
