As Kovu grows into a full grown adult lion, Simba steps down and gives the throne to his daughter and to his son in law.Years later after, Kiara gives birth to a young prince, named after her father.
As Prince Simba grows in the Pridelands, he befriends a white lioness Saphara and her daughter Luna. Much like Simba and Nala's relationship, Prince Simba and Luna become the best of friends and later lovers.
