Zaya O'Neil, is a young girl who idolizes her older brother Ryan, a professional gamer and aspires to follow in his footsteps. When Ryan is tragically killed in a swatting incident while live streaming the game, Virtue, Zaya's world crumbles. But as she goes through Ryan's belongings, she finds a hard drive containing a detailed training guide on becoming the best Virtue player ever.

Determined to keep her brother's dream alive, Zaya immerses herself in the game and soon discovers a natural talent for it. As she rises through the ranks, she faces not only the cutthroat competition and her own personal demons, but she soon realizes that there is more at stake than just winning.
