Everyone has a story about where they come from. If you knew you could die tomorrow what stories, messages and learnings would you want to leave for your loved ones?

This book is an unapologetically honest and raw account of a working-class first-generation immigrant along with advice for my future child on the two main issues at play which they will likely encounter from the moment they enter this world: gender and race.

Throughout my life, I have moved a total of 15 times. I've seen a lot and experienced a great deal of disparity between what we're told society should function like, and the way it works in reality.

This book is written for and as if speaking with my future child. I hope you read this with the vulnerability, love and compassion with which it was created.

This book is a mix of poems and my diary entry's. I've been at a loss for words for the past 2 or so years after writing i story I practically surrogatly lived through and proudfully deleted. I've been trying to make a new start for myself since the new year and it was so difficult for me, so I decided to do what I thought I knew best writing out my emotions. These poems and entries are my way of releasing those emotions out of me. Emotions I go through, and I know that people could relate to me so I'm deciding to publish them for anyone who wants a personal reading that could even help you. So this is me, Grace Crilly.
