Inlustris - Xiaoven

A turbulent breeze cuts through the thick tension between them, chipping off rocks from the precipices they find themselves standing on. They pay no mind to the whirling gales that threaten to throw them off, to the webbing cracks of the land at their feet preceding an endless fall into the darkness of the abyss, to the world falling apart into a million pieces around them.

The only thing the light touches, the only thing their mutual gaze is upon is the way Venti slowly nocks an arrow into place, aiming it at the glowing vision on the other's arm. Xiao's expression doesn't change, doesn't falter, and he has but one thing to say.

"Try to pierce through, with your brilliance."

Or: Xiao and Venti are idols competing to become the top star, grasping for the spotlight's gaze and the undivided attention of a global audience. However, down here, in the grandeur displays held in secrecy, in the auditions not known to the public eye, are where they shine the brightest they ever have.
