Mike Morgan and his friends Sam, a determined boy with a short temper and Justin, the one person his age that has rivalled his intelligence, are suddenly transported to a mysterious dream world upon falling asleep one night. They meet Chris and Grace and are faced with a scary enemy. The Purple Rat, as they call it, chases the group of five relentlessly through a dark and deadly trial. Once they complete the trial they awaken, but something is different, the scratch that The Purple Rat gave Justin hasn't healed, it's still there and bleeding in the real world. Any harm they endure in The Dreamscape, they endure in real life as well, including death.
Murderous monsters and other humans with the same ability lurk around every corner. A mysterious world full of mysterious people is waiting to be explained.

I'll Never Forget
George and Clay had known each other since they were incredibly young. Their friendship was indescribable, it was like they were tied together and would always find each other again. And that was true except now they were only like that by two small bracelets, one blue and one green. Clay's timetable had gotten more and more busy and he had less time for George eventually resulting to a null. A friendship that was once inseparable was now long gone, just memories of better times as Clay's life became hell. The days became repetitive, school, train, sleep. Every day was the same as the one before and the one after. Only George had to find a way to fix this, as he made a promise he would never forget. His parents are hopeless and don't know how to help him anymore while he games all day and skips school. George struggles with an eating disorder and seeks help on the wrong sites, meeting a coach who is "eighteen" years old. George trusts him and ends up sending him pictures of himself without anything on, not realising the terrible effects of this. His escape is to game as well, meeting an emotionless person who appears to have a soft spot for him. Will they be able to help each other? After finding out Clay has a severe and life threatening dairy allergy, he keeps getting more and more stomach aches and allergic symptoms to other foods to the point he is barely allowed to eat anything anymore. He is so sick of always feeling awful that not eating anything seems like the best way out... Sapnap went through a traumatic past and has always been ignored by his parents because his disabled brother, George, needs all the help he could get. Sapnap starts experiencing more and more problems, every now and then reverting to a younger person while he skips school to escape his bullies. Clay and Sapnap meet in an unexpected way and seem to get along very well. Clay loves taking care of George and the two finally seem to be able to talk about their hidden pain and feelings, but unfortunately, that doesn't solve the problems they go through...
