Mike Morgan and his friends Sam, a determined boy with a short temper and Justin, the one person his age that has rivalled his intelligence, are suddenly transported to a mysterious dream world upon falling asleep one night. They meet Chris and Grace and are faced with a scary enemy. The Purple Rat, as they call it, chases the group of five relentlessly through a dark and deadly trial. Once they complete the trial they awaken, but something is different, the scratch that The Purple Rat gave Justin hasn't healed, it's still there and bleeding in the real world. Any harm they endure in The Dreamscape, they endure in real life as well, including death.
Murderous monsters and other humans with the same ability lurk around every corner. A mysterious world full of mysterious people is waiting to be explained.

Recedem, a small village in Holmentis, was one of the most beautiful villages in the country. Its people were always happy and cheery, and enjoyed every day of the year. However, this changed when Demons attacked. These creatures had the power to control your mind and take over your body. They used this control to make you do horrible things, like killing the one you love most. But lucky for some people not everyone could be controlled. Some people had a strong mind, they we're able to resist a Demon's influence. George had resisted a Demon, which made him a Fortis. Dream's mind hadn't resisted one, which made him an Inferior Both Dream and George had left the attack behind them, trying not to think about it. I'll Never Forget
George and Clay had known each other since they were incredibly young. Their friendship was indescribable, it was like they were tied together and would always find each other again. And that was true except now they were only like that by two small bracelets, one blue and one green. Clay's timetable had gotten more and more busy and he had less time for George eventually resulting to a null. A friendship that was once inseparable was now long gone, just memories of better times as Clay's life became hell. The days became repetitive, school, train, sleep. George struggles with an eating disorder and seeks help on the wrong sites, meeting a coach who is "eighteen" years old. George trusts him and ends up sending him pictures of himself without anything on, not realising the terrible effects of this. His escape is to game as well, meeting an emotionless person who appears to have a soft spot for him. Will they be able to help each other?
