What happens when a zombie apocalypse breaks out across Teyvat? Where does it come from? And is there any hope in sight? Tartaglia doesn't know quite where it all began and certainly not where it ends. But he does know this is no accident or fluke of nature, and he'll seek out the truth if it kills him.

For the hero of Teyvat, running into Childe after the start of a zombie outbreak wasn't in her plans. And she certainly had every intention to leave him in the dust as she continued her search for the gods and her brother. But he knows something. She can see it in his eyes and in the guilt that seems to linger like shadows on his very being. So when he asks her to travel with him to help him find his family before it's too late, how could she possibly deny him? She can't. Not when she knows there's more to his goal.

Hello, I'm Phoenixwhirl, and I just wanted to say a few things about the story. First off, this is a slow-burn Chilumi fanfic and will contain no smut. Also, everything that happened before the beginning of this story is true to the game and may contain spoilers if you are not up to date on the archon quests or have yet to do Childe's story quest.

As for the zombie part... Obviously, this is not true to the game. However, I will use game lore to tie it in as best I can. Also, there may be a bit of gore with the zombies, so if you don't like reading about gore and zombies, then you might want to check out one of the other fanfictions I haven't written. (Yet)
