He lightly brushed his thumb along her cheek wiping away a tear that escaped from her eye. His hand lingered on her face. She held her breath and looked into his eyes. He brought his forehead down to hers so that their faces were inches apart. She had stopped crying and hadn’t noticed that her heart was beating furiously against her chest. "Hope." She heard him whisper against her cheek. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes. ------------ Hope Adams spent every Summer at the beach house with her family since she was a little girl. Liam Smith used to spend every Summer at the beach house, but then his parents got divorced and nothing was the same. This Summer, Liam and his mom return to the house. Hope and Liam reunite and sparks fly, emotions are all over the place and a love triangle begins to form.

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights.
