When a voice calls out to her, an intern at a highly renowned and highly secretive biopharmaceutical company stumbles upon a laboratory hidden under their building. She finds a folder detailing experiments and research of things she thought were fantasy-portals, other realms, promises of immortality. That voice though...It continues to call for her, seemingly coming from a beacon of light in this lab. When she touches it, she is suddenly transported into a world that is not her own. She finds herself lost in this new world, unable to speak their language or understand their magic. She was a human in another life, a fae in this one, but she comes to find her soul seems to be connected to something else entirely. With the war against Hybern still brewing, the Inner Court needs all the help they can get. The cauldron had pulled her in Prythian for a reason and she agrees to help them in hopes that once her purpose has been served, the cauldron would return her home. But there is someone in this new world that does not want her to leave-someone claiming to be her mate, a certain shadowsinger.

The Night Court's second Shadowsinger-sharp-edged, private, powerful. A ghost in enemy territory. A whisper in the field. A snarl at the war table. Everyone joked she and Azriel should fall in love. Their shadows already had. Everyone except Cassian. Because Cassian always knew it was her-the female with quick reflexes, sharper words, and a darkness that called to his light. But he never said a word. Couldn't risk her. Until he's carrying her broken body back home, whispering truths too late. The story of a female born in shadow who learned to weaponize silence and the male who loved her loud enough to break through.
