In the vast expanse of the cosmos, the Galactic Imperium stands as the bastion of order and civilization, its legacy stretching across a millennium. For a thousand years, it has defended the known galaxy against the relentless onslaught of alien invaders and cosmic terrors, holding steadfast against the chaos that threatens to engulf the cosmos.
But in the year 3981, a monumental event unfolds at the heart of Neo Constantinople in the Deneb Prime system of the Deneb Sector. A mysterious structure materializes, defying the laws of space and time, its origins shrouded in enigma. This anomaly, dubbed the "GATE," heralds not just a new chapter in the Imperium's history, but an unprecedented era of expansion and discovery.
With the emergence of the GATE, the Galactic Imperium finds itself presented with unparalleled opportunities and challenges. Beyond its borders lies an uncharted galaxy ripe for exploration and conquest, teeming with ancient secrets and untold dangers. As the Imperium ventures forth into this uncharted realm, it must navigate treacherous waters, facing foes both familiar and alien, while unlocking the mysteries of the GATE and harnessing its unfathomable power.
Thus, amidst the stars, a new saga begins for the Galactic Imperium-one that will test its resolve, shape its destiny, and redefine the very fabric of the cosmos.

10,000 years in the future, humanity has long since inhabited a region of space simply known as the "Habitable Zone of the Milky Way," or simply the "Habitable Zone." Many advancements have been made, though many are irrelevant to the billions - or perhaps more - of souls scattered across space. Everything operates under the silent, vague, but present scrutiny of the gods, with thaumaturgic talents dominating many human cultures in some capacity. Churches reign over the post-Altarum territories a century after the Silence. The World, at least as far as many within the Habitable Zone are concerned, is a cold, thoughtless plane of existence. It is within a single vessel, known as the CSS Groundskeeper, do things begin to influence the "Things To Be," as labeled by followers of the pantheon. Within this ship, two individuals will face the beginning of what is to be unimaginable horrors within an unforgiving universe, both with the same goal: do not succumb to the darkness. Trepidation: Act I is the first story in what is to be a much longer novel detailing the story of two individuals in the cold universe. Act I may contain disturbing content for some readers. On one New Year's Eve, the moment the International Date Line welcomed the new year first, the change occurred. Communications between nations were severed, climates shifted, and unknown lands emerged. Eventually, as each country gathered information and realized they had somehow been transported to another world, their reactions varied. America: "FUCK YEAH! Frontier time, baby!" Russia: "FUCK YEAH! It's warmer now, and the vodka tastes even better!" China: "FUCK YEAH! Not sure what's going on, but there's a ton of stuff that looks edible!" The world of Aurelia was once a small unimpressive world, double the size, width and mass of Terra, but keeping the same gravital pull of our blue planet. Once a grand empire that was both respected and feared amongst its adversaries, stretching from one continental side to the other, conquering and subjugating tens of thousands of people and demi-humans, even the High Elfs, it fell due an unknown power appearing from nowhere, with many claiming them to the worst enemy they had ever faced, worse than the rumored Demons in the Unknown, foggy continent. This unknown force, called the infamous "Grey/Black men", clad in two Lightnings and death skull emblems, only made the life of many sub-humans worse, killing dozens per minute or even seconds. Only through the sheer tenacity and change of situation back home, forced the unknown superior military to conceded and retreat back, leaving tales of destruction and heresy back in this now peaceful world. One hundred years later, the newly emerged Superpower of Atlantia has begun expanding its influence in other continents, including the once isolated continent of Aurus, once ruled by Matador. Playing their cards right, they gained sympathisers and backstabbing people amongst the ranks of the elite and hierachy, further strengthening their hold in the new continent. Ravaged by greed they invaded the isolated Principality, seeking to dethrone the Princess and putting her Regent into power, turning the vast continent in one giant vassal, with its minions doing the dirty work. In a last desperate move the Princess attempts to destroy any evidence of the Gate, a connection to two worlds, the black men's home world, but alas, this failed. Consequently, greed had its price and the Gate fell into hands of the Alliance. How will the other side fare and will peace return in this tyrannic world?
