Don't Miss The Train: Eleven 12

An unnamed passenger found their self stuck in a cycle where a train comes by every 11:11 o'clock, and every time the train stops a second to wait for them to hop in, without fail, they manage to miss the train for five years straight.

This micro story contains a lot of elements, such as; the door of opportunity, a pool of self-doubts, peer pressure and 'time' depicted as an unceasing running train. All of these compacted into almost seven hundred words in a single-paged book. One may consider this a poem rather than a story, but I consider it as both.
