Prior to Operation Downfall, a large surge of energy was detected in Paris in which the Omega was rendered dead and the remaining Mimics were left scattered in mass numbers throughout Europe. But the result of the strong energy surge seems to have given the remaining Alpha Mimics to take in command and spearhead scouges and hordes of Mimics to repel the offensive by the United Defense Force.




Just after the full swing of the Operation to take back France and relief tension in the Eastern front where other countries were struggling to hold back the Mimics in different parts of Europe, an unknown asteroid with anomalous material and property had hit the middle of France in a Mimic infested territory and seems to have opened a Gateway to another unknown world that is yet to be explored or discovered by them.
