Simon Lancaster is a young impressionable boy who lives in the mountains. He works as a mechanic in the floating city of Osoria and gets paid in whatever he finds on the job and trades it for coins. One day, his hair mysteriously turns a blinding shade of white and his eyes the color of a just-ripe apple. His entire life may not be as it seems.
So Simon and his friends set out on a grand journey to find his true mother and others like him, along the way uncovering dark countryside secrets and discovering who they are.
