North Carolina has cracked before. In the months before the Civil War, as her legislature argued over if they were to follow the South into war. As her flag had changed, the cracks had vanished. Almost 200 years later, the cracks had come back, and the possibility of fragmentation was growing more and more realistic-as were the memories that flashed in her mind.
