Melanie Nyx was running from her past in Central City, fleeing to Gotham in search of a fresh start. But as she settles into her new life as a forensic investigator and detective for the GCPD, her past seems to be her future once again.

A series of butcher shop murders has Melanie and her new partner Dick Grayson going undercover in the most dangerous building in Gotham City: Arkham Asylum.

As the two gain new information everyday, they begin to suspect that the person they are seeking help for is merely a pawn in a much bigger scheme hidden in Gotham.

With Melanie and Dick's secrets breaking through the cracks, suspects turning up dead, and new feelings being pushed away, Melanie believes that the only thing she can do is put herself in danger to save her new home.

But how can an invincible woman get herself hurt?
