Eveline Hansley -or for short: Ivy-, is recovering from the depression and addictions she fell into when she was 17, following her dream to be a successful plane pilot. Her mother is always there for her and is supportive in everything she does. She meets Isaac Fitch on a flight to New york and they get to know each other, sharing secrets and liking the same things. One thing Ivy can't share though, is her two years of addiction and depression. The healed and barely visible anymore scars on her arms and thighs stop her from letting Isaac to know her better, and understand her shyness towards certain activities and substances. Trigger warnings: Smut, addiction, drugs, depression, depression/suicidal related things and others. Will Ivy be capable of leaving her issues in the past and move on, letting Isaac help and love her the way she should've been loved when she most needed it? I will put no tws at the start of chapters as that can literally just spoil the whole thing AND the tws are in here. If you can't bare reading all of it, go to the next chapter/page at your own risk of losing information OR stop reading the story at all. Thank you and enjoy!

"You're not a burden," he said. "OK," I said, again, trying to play it off like I didn't care. I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep up the façade. I could feel the tears banging against the barricade just behind my eyelids, the sobs clawing at the walls of my throat... they were demanding to be let out. "Don't shut me out," he begged in a desperate whisper. *** If only the guys in Ivy's life could be as in love with her as she is with them. Ever the tomboy to keep herself from getting hurt, Ivy knows it's safer to yearn from afar than it is to love up-close. What happens when a new guy shows up at her high school and starts to treat her as more than a friend? What happens when she goes off to college? Will she be liberated? Loved? Or is she condemned to a life on the sidelines, always the buddy, never THAT GIRL?
