Fierce. Determined. Stubborn. That's Chandler Wallace, the 17-year old captain of Lakeview High's girls' football team.
Belligerent. Cocky. Obsinate. That's Alex Taylor, captain of the boys' football team.
Both are confident and head-strong. Both are the leaders of the school's only undefeated sports teams. And both need to be the absolute best.
Being such revered captains always caused rivalry between the two of them, from popularity to grades, it was always a battle. But no battle was like this one.
When the richest girl in school breaks her leg at a cheerleading competition, her parents pull out all the funding they had put into the school, leaving Lakeview High less than half of what they had been before.
Suddenly, everything's changing. Classes are cut, equiptment is reduced, teachers are fired. But probably the worst part of the whole thing, to the students at least, is that the school no longer has enough funding to support two football teams. They are forced to combine into one, the weaker ones eliminated, leaving the best football players in the school to one team. And the best captains.
The two captains must now compete for the greatest title of all: captain of the entire school's football team.
There will be new friendships, betrayals, and of course, brawls.
In other words, the moment those funds were pulled out, hell was unleashed, and it's time for the biggest battle of Chandler and Alex's lives: the Captain Calamity.

Not every blonde is stupid. In the South if you're a beautiful, blonde, blue-eyed girl high expectations are made. Either you're not extremely smart, so you find yourself a suitable husband to take care of you. Or you are smart and you just pretend to be dumb so you find yourself a suitable husband to take care of you. All her life Avery Skinner has been told what to do and how to do it- by everyone. By her mother, the girls she calls friends, the guys in school, teachers, family, even Mark the mailman. Needless to say, she's sick of it. Its time Avery took control of her life or at least get a firm grip on the sucker. She's loved football ever since she was a little girl. Yet she could never play because ladies aren't supposed to do such barbaric things. Especially in the South- unless its a rodeo and you're wearing those ridiculously tight outfits that show you're navel or showing you can hold your liquor. Avery has longed to be on the field, throwing the ball instead of cheering on the team her dad coaches that can't seem to win. Then her best friend Austin forces Avery to and for sometime everyone is fooled. But the truth can only be hidden for so long. The moment the townsfolk of Stonehenge, Alabama learned it was a girl under that helmet, was the moment true colors showed. It hasn't been easy and it won't get any better but Avery is here to play. * Avery is going to face REAL life problems, and not nice people. She's going to deal with sexual harassment, mean words, rude people, pregnancy, injuries, steroids, etc.. In this story I want to exemplify how sexist and cruel humans can be. There will be hard moments, but I want to put it out there because it IS a serious problem. Harsh language and such will be present. You have been warned, don't read it then complain. I'm running, my dress bunched up in my fists. But I'm not running for my life I'm running for his, and when I see him I stop. There is one bulky man on either side of him, they have their arms linking his, he's kneeling in front of someone with raven black hair. As we get closer, I see his pain in the way he's holding himself, his brown hair is clouding his face. Something catches in my throat as I see him bent forward, almost looking limp. The panic is slowly eating me up on the inside. 'Please lift your head, let me see your eyes' I pray inside my head. He can't be gone. It's almost like he hears my prayers as he looks up, his blue eyes as deep as the ocean depths, knocks the breath out of me as per usual. I close my eyes and thank God for keeping him alive. The right side of his jaw is all purple and red. A cut on the other side of his face, which is oozing with the red liquid. He suddenly looks past the black haired male to look at us, reassurance washing over his features. It's when he sees me that his eyes widen, and the panic grows by the second. He goes from a slump to picking himself upright. He's hurt. Badly. The black haired man spins around as we walk closer in their direction. All 6 of us stop as I catch a glimpse of the face. A deadly grin appears on his wicked face. "Boys, I've been waiting for you" He shouts loud and clear. "And you brought the girl" * Crescent Bay Dawson was once popular but now she lives in the shadow of her twin brother.
