when arisu and his friends came to the borderlands, they each got infected or more formally known as 'love sickness'.
what is this?
the infection damaged the infected heads, making them go to extreme lengths in the name of love. advanced strength, good hearing, and other senses that the infected would develop. all while having to play games of survival.
as arisu and his friends spend more time in the borderlands they noticed that the whole borderland were infected, they were each separated into different groups according to there infections. sadists go with sadists, protectives go with protectives and so on.
whenever a new person would enter the borderlands they were all given a infection, while most got infections some weren't as lucky. there was some uninfected people blending in, some lasted longer then others, but when one girl entered and got a infection she finds out that she's uninfected and now she's going to try and survive without getting caught, to leave this copy of her city.
